Tree Removal
Sometimes a tree just has to go. Here are signs it may be time:
- Bare branches in the middle of summer
- Mushrooms growing at the base
- Deep cracks or splits in the trunk
- A lean that gets worse over time
- Roots lifting the dirt on one side
In tight backyards, like many in Silverado or Winn Ridge, our crew takes the tree down in small pieces. Each piece is lowered with ropes, so nothing lands on your roof, fence or pool. On open acreage outside town, there's often room to drop the tree whole.
Every tree removal in Aubrey ends with cleanup. We haul away the logs, limbs and sawdust. Want the stump gone too? Ask us to add stump grinding to the same job.

Good trimming keeps a tree strong. Bad trimming can kill it. Our tree trimming service in Aubrey covers:
- Crown thinning so wind can pass through instead of snapping limbs
- Crown raising to lift low branches off your roof, driveway or sidewalk
- Deadwood removal before dead limbs fall on someone
- Shaping for young trees, so they grow up strong
A good rule is to take off no more than about one quarter of a tree's live leaves at once. And please don't "top" your crape myrtles. Chopping them flat every winter leaves weak, ugly knobs.
Oaks need special timing. Texas A&M Forest Service says to avoid pruning or wounding oaks from February through June. That's when the beetles that spread oak wilt are most active. Any cut on an oak should be painted right away. So if you call us about your live oak in April, we may suggest waiting until July.

A stump is more than an eyesore. It trips kids, breaks mower blades and can draw termites and fungus.
Stump grinding chews the stump into chips, down below the ground line [confirm typical depth]. Then the hole gets filled so you can lay sod or plant grass. Grinding is faster and cheaper than digging the whole root ball out. It also leaves your yard in much better shape.
One tip: before anyone grinds or digs, call Texas 811. It's free, and they'll mark buried gas, power and cable lines.

When a storm drops a tree on your house, car or fence, you need help fast. Here's what to do first:
- Get everyone away from the damaged part of the house.
- Stay far away from any downed power line. Call your electric company or 911.
- Take photos for your insurance company before anything gets moved.
- Don't climb a ladder with a chainsaw. Leave that part to a trained crew.
Then call us. Our emergency tree service in Aubrey removes trees from roofs and driveways, cuts up split trunks and clears blocked roads. [Confirm hours: 24/7 or after-hours response?] When storms hit, every tree crew in North Texas gets busy at once. Having a tree service in Aubrey already saved in your phone saves you time when it counts.

Aubrey is growing fast. Sandbrock Ranch plans about 2,400 homes. Silverado could reach 5,000. Plenty of folks with acreage are clearing land too.
Our land clearing service removes trees, brush, cedar and thick undergrowth. We clear lots for new homes, barns, shops, pastures and fence lines. Tell us which trees you want to keep, and we'll work around them.
Clearing near oaks? Wounds from clearing equipment can let oak wilt in, just like pruning cuts. We paint fresh oak wounds to help protect the trees you're saving.

Maybe you cut the tree down yourself. Maybe the storm did it for you. Either way, there's now a big pile of limbs and logs in your yard.
Our limb haul-off service loads it all up and takes it away. Big logs and brush piles are often too much for regular trash pickup. We'll rake up the small stuff too, so your grass can breathe again.
Commercial & HOA Tree Service
Our tree service isn't just for homes. We also work for HOAs, builders, property managers, churches and businesses along US 377 and US 380. Our commercial tree service covers:
- Trimming trees along sidewalks, entrances and parking lots
- Removing dead or risky trees from common areas
- Clearing lots for builders
- Storm cleanup across a whole property
Need a certificate of insurance before we start? Just ask. [Confirm this is available.] We can also set up a regular trimming schedule so your property looks good all year.
Tree Planting
The right tree in the right spot can shade your house for 50 years. The wrong one can split in the first big storm.
For Aubrey's sandy soil, good picks include live oak, cedar elm, bur oak, chinkapin oak and Texas redbud. Skip the Bradford pear. Those trees are known for splitting apart in storms.
Fall is the best time to plant in North Texas. The roots grow all winter before the summer heat hits. Our tree planting service helps you pick the tree, find a good spot and plant it at the right depth. Keep the root flare, where the trunk widens at the bottom, showing above the dirt.
Arborist Consultation & Tree Risk Assessment
Not sure if a tree is safe? Buying a home with big old oaks? Does your HOA want a report? A tree risk assessment answers those questions.
We look at the trunk, roots, limbs and leaves. Then you get a clear answer in plain words: keep it, trim it, brace it or remove it. [If an ISA Certified Arborist does these visits, say so here. If not, don't use the word "certified."]
Tree Disease & Pest Treatment
Trees get sick too. Here are the problems we see most around Aubrey:
- Oak wilt. On live oaks, look for leaf veins turning yellow or brown. On red oaks, leaves may turn dull green to red-brown in spring. Live oak roots connect underground, so the disease can move from tree to tree. Texas A&M Forest Service says it spreads about 75 feet a year that way.
- Hypoxylon canker. Bark falls off in patches and shows a gray or tan crust. It mostly hits trees already weak from drought.
- Bagworms. Small cone-shaped bags hanging on cedars and junipers.
- Borers. Tiny holes in the bark with sawdust below.
Caught early, many of these can be treated. That's why a yearly check from a tree service in Aubrey can save a tree you love. Our tree disease treatment starts with finding out what's wrong, then building a plan for your tree.
